How to look thinner using clothes

Why in some clothes we look slim, and in another - a couple of sizes more? It's all about optical illusions.

Knowing and using visual illusions in clothes, it is much easier to find a closet and even to change dramatically the way you look.

So, our task is to focus attention on the strengths, balance the silhouette and correctly place the accents.

Choose clothes to make you feel comfortable

If you keep pulling on your skirt or adapting your straps all the time, everyone will notice that. The biggest style blunder that most people make is wearing clothing that not fits correctly. Very often I notice empire waist dresses, where the undercut is lifted on the breast and flatten and cross it out. Disaster! In fact, such a cut is intended to emphasize the bust. Probably it is or a mistake in the patterns, or you wear the dress in a wrong way.

Long vertical and diagonal lines are visually slimming, horizontal lines appear to widen the silhouette

Take control of the verticals and horizontals, and the result will impress you! Buttons in a row, high cuts, V-neck, long scarf or shawl, creases on the pants, side stripes, vertical seams and stripes will help to look slimmer. The exception is a wide contrasting stripes and frequent deep folds. They make the figure larger.
Nude color pump shoes will work for vertical. They work with absolutely everything in your closet and visually will make your legs longer.
Long earrings and long necklace optically make slender a face and a neck. But it's better to choose one thing and not wear long earrings and necklace together. Refuse large and short beads - they cross out the neck and shorten it. The same with the choker - it is not for everybody.
If you have a large bust, it is better to abandon brooches on lapels of jackets. If on the contrary, you want to add visually the bust volume or widen the narrow shoulders, wear horizontal striped or check blouses. Your best friends will be the "boatneck", "sweetheart" necklines, horizontal ruffles and flounces.

Monochrome outfit

Nothing make a silhouette seems slender like a monochrome look. In other words, when you are dressed in one color from head to toe. Everything - a dress, tights, shoes and a coat are the same color. This trend does not give up its positions for several seasons in a row. There’s something undeniably sophisticated about a monochromatic outfit.
Outfit assembled from different shades of the same color looks super elegant and high-end. Layering one color family together creates interesting dimension and allows you play up silhouettes, accessories, and different lengths. For example, from a fresh mint shade to an emerald green and dark avokado green.
Jumpsuit is another one smart example of a monochrome outfit. Long vertical lines of jumpsuit visually lengthen the figure, so certainly long jumpsuit fits absolutely to any woman.
The same applies to the fashionable Culottes. Match them with a blouse from the same color family - it's a win-win option that visually will not shorten your legs. Wear your culottes with a pointed toe shoes with medium-thick heel and same color matt tights, or give preference to your favorite nude pumps without tights. Do not wear shoes with round toe and wide bootlegs paired with culottes!

Muted, dark colors

Dark colors really have a magical effect! The fact is that the human eye sees dark objects smaller, and light ones - larger. That's why dark blue, purple, chocolate, dark green and black outfits give a sense of shapely figure.

Color blocking

Is a method of wearing multiple solid colors in an outfit. Dark vertical side inserts will "cut off" the unwanted curves. And with the help of curved, narrowing at the waist inserts, you can create the visually slender waistline.
Be careful - a contrasting blouse tucked into trousers or a skirt can play a cruel joke. But there is a solution- tuck the blouse only at the front, and at the back leave it free.

Wear correctly slim fit clothing

For tight clothes the first priority is to choose correct underwear. Avoid straps that digging into your sides/armpits - they will "cut" the figure and appear through tight clothing. It is better to choose seamless panties and a stapless bra or a bra with wide straps. Purchase the sculpting shapewear for a special event, and you will look gorgeous!

Give preference to matt fabrics

Clothes made of shiny glossy fabrics make us look larger, after all shine is always attracts attention, and emphasizes even the smallest imperfection. Therefore, it is better to avoid tight-fitting dresses made of glossy fabrics, fabrics with paillettes and velor. However, do not deny yourself the pleasure of wearing shiny dresses, just add the shine dosed - combine shiny and matte surfaces in one outfit. For example, combine a satin dress with a matt blazer, or create a monochrome look with a sequin top, matt trousers and a cardigan. Or choose a dress with shiny and matte inserts.

Finally, the most important thing is a great posture and a graceful gait!

5 Fashion Tips for autumn-winter 2017-18

The autumn/winter 2017 fashion tendencies are shaping up in such a way that many trends remain at the peak of popularity for several seasons in a row, and this is wonderful. For example, everybody's favorite combo of a chunky knit and a wide midi skirt, or a Boho dress. The boundaries between what is "in fashion" and what is "out of fashion" are broken, the concept of seasonality is blurred.
And still, how to cheer yourself this fall? For instance, with a new dress. And better – with a Day-to-Night Dress. Buying a dress make sure that it can be worn from morning till night. By changing only accessories and shoes the same dress you can freely choose for the office or for a date.
Blazers and jackets with shoulder pads are back in fashion - as an element of Power Dressing (the style of business ladies and influential people - take the best from the looks of Hillary Clinton and Angela Merkel), or in combo with a Slip Dress and sneakers. Or you can put on an elongated jacket ... and forget about bottom at all. Elongated jackets and pullovers without a bottom is a bold trend now.
If this style is out of your comfort zone - wear a fitted jacket with a pleated skirt or chiffon dress. Along with Over size and Power Dressing style, a highly romantic girlish look is particularly relevant today. Ruffles, flounces, ruching, flared sleeves, airy chiffon dresses are the essentials of any girl's autumn wardrobe. Make a focus on the waist - it could be afitt&flare silhouette dress or a wide belt at the waist - it's up to you.
Cropped trousers confidently occupy a leading position in the wardrobe for several years ahead. They can be plain, Jacquard, checked, slim or flared, fringed, and even with frills on the bottom. Wear them with a coat, long cardigan or a sweater.
Add some color!
Red - the color of passion and self-confidence - is at the peak of popularity. This is an absolute win-win this fall and another bright trend. So are the rich shades of red - cherry, burgundy, copper, red-orange. This season red can be a dress, a coat or trousers. Or all together head-to-toe. You can fully dress in Total Red, or play with the contrasts and add bright accents.
Mix and match - colors, textures, styles.
Clothing may be a great way to lift one's spirits. Unleash your imagination and boldly combine the brightest colors. Fuchsia and red, orange and red, burgundy and royal blue, shades of yellow (mustard, lemon) with black or rich blue will reveal you as an independent person and a fashionista. A colored fur jacket over a light dress will sheer you up on a dank dull autumn day.
Clothing made of leather, as well as combinations with leather details are strongly recommended again. Leather trousers or dress, jackets, leather inserts, even the simple addition of the leather accessories will bring your wardrobe into the here and now.
Invest in gold!
Purchasing a gold or silver dress, trousers or a blouse will be a good investment of money. If you do not want to shine head-to-toe, then let it be at least a glitter print or embroidery with a gold thread. Well, or at least, break the bank for gold or silver socks - and you'll be surely in trend.
If by purchasing of a color fur coat and a gold dress you were finally knocked out of the budget, and to buy shoes it's out of your options at the moment, do not be discouraged. Another trend will help you make it to the discounts. Wear a pair of fluffy  socks right with the sandals! But as for me it's too much. But to buy a pair of colored or pattern tights is definitely worth it - this autumn this trend sounds very loud.
Do not deny yourself the pleasure of wearing prints in winter.
All this magnificence of colors and textures would be incomplete without fashion patterns and ornaments. Here - leopard in blousesdresses, coats and accessories; Geometry- particularly check and polka dot, and floral prints that were transferred from summer.
Fashion as a social phenomenon is always a reflection of cultural, economic and political processes in society. As consequence - global trends, such as multiculturalism, individualism. Look at the models that participate in catwalks and ad campaigns - they are all of different age, skin color, body type.
So, the most important advice of the autumn - Be yourself!

How to dress with style and not to spend a fortune

How to dress with style and not to spend a fortune

When you take a look at your wardrobe, do you have a thought that "I have nothing to wear"? Surely you do. In order to dress stylishly, it's not necessary to spend all of your salary on clothes.
Explore yourself! Your personal color preferences, your type of figure, form of activity, lifestyle and sphere of interests will give a starting point for creating your own unique style.
So, first of all you need to pay attention to a Wardrobe Staples. The wardrobe essentials are neutral pieces that you can easily combine with the others. For example it could be a neutral-colored Pencil Skirt or Cigarette Trousers  which depending on occasion you can combine with a conservative white shirt or a Boho Style Blouse. Little Black Dress should become a must-have piece of the basic wardrobe - in fact it can help you out in almost any occasion.
However, avoid buying the same things. This way you will produce the impression that you are in the habit of wearing the same things for years. At least it's boring. Do not be afraid to experiment. If your wardrobe is too monotonous in color, add a couple of color accents to it. Do not be too keen on the conservative clothing - a romantic Floral print Dress or a Polka dot Blouse will surely cheer you up.
It is better to eradicate the habit of impulsive shopping. Do not succumb to advertisements and do not blindly follow fashion. Clothes should serve you and emphasize your best sides. First of all, you must feel psychologically comfortable. If, for example, a skirt is shorter than you like, you will feel insecure and it is unlikely that this skirt will become your favorite. Or maybe you will never wear it at all. Buying a new thing, you also need to remember all the other components. It is not very practical to buy, say, a fashionable Crop Top, if later you have to pick up pants, shoes, a jacket and so on. And after all you will understand that the high-waisted bottom and an open belly do not match you well.
Love yourself for who you are! Do not buy smaller sized pieces. Cast away illusions - clothes that are small, play a cruel joke on us, and visually add a couple of extra kilos.
Do not buy very cheap clothes. It is better to buy one quality item instead of ten - "disposable". Usually cheap clothes are made from low-quality fabrics, which can even harm your health. What can i say about fitting? And what will become of it after the first wash? Oh no, it's better not even to imagine it.
Dress according to the occasion. It's not a good idea, for example, to wear Gladiator sandals for an official event, and Stiletto heels for a beach party.
Do not run to extremes. I adore Lady Gaga, but as we know, where is a whole Stylist's Team job behind her every look, and what's good on the stage is not suitable for a trip in the subway. In everyday life you should give preference to practical and comfortable clothes.
Do not forget about accessories and shoes. After all, if you complete the same Little Black Dress with sneakers and a leather jacket, and make a ponytail, you can safely go for a walk or for a coffee with your friends. But in combination with the gold Stiletto shoes, clutch and an evening necklace – it will be a perfect look to go to an official event.
Remember the words of legendary Coco Chanel - "Fashion passes, the style remains."
Dress with style!

For A Perfect Dress

For A Perfect Dress                                                                                                                                                     The process of creating begins, of course, with the idea. Variety of images and impressions from the events, journeys, exhibitions, movies, reflected in one another, and the idea becomes reality. Before to start my STYLATI collection is necessary to analyze big amounts of information, including shows of Fashion Week, a modern street style. Travelling, looking catwalks, walking past a clothing store or encountering unusually dressed man in the street, I always make sketches or take pictures of interesting to me things.
I use these materials to make the Mood Boards, Color Boards, which help to see more clearly the theme of collection as a whole, not separated into the pieces. I concretize the mood and theme of Look Book and promotional materials.
At the stage of sketches I work at the silhouette, proportions, lines and design elements, I think over the finishing, accessories, color palettes. At the same time searching for a suitable material. This is one of the most important stages - I have to direct the creative flow in the right direction, and to predict all possible fitting and technological problems. To choose one sketch I have to make dozens of sketches and drafts.
When the sketch is ready I give it to the Engineer designer. It is very important to find the designer which is on the same wavelength with you, and his sense of lines and proportions matching with yours. So - the primary drawing templates are ready, the sample is cut out, and the tailor makes it half-finished.
First fitting. Here I must take into consideration everything. Fit, proportions, and aesthetic moments - that's only half the work. The model must be comfortable to wear, tech in production, reasonable cost.It can be2-3 samples and fittings, depending on the level of complexity and the fabric. When all the nuances taken into account and worked over, the sample is approved, an Engineer designer makes the gradation in size. Usually,  the primary sample we make in medium size, to avoid further inaccuracies in sizes. It is very important to understand how the proportions will change, and sometimes it needs to make one more sample in large.
Now we are ready for production. The sample, fabrics, accessories, complementary materials, as well as complete sets of templates together with the necessary supporting documents are sending to the manufactory.

My Journey to Corfu

by the idea of visiting Corfu. When i thought  of this island i remembered scraps of Odyssey Travel, the fighting under the command of Admiral Ushakov, the Turkish battleships, the Republic of Venice and the Empress Sissi.
The spectacular views of the mighty monolithic bastion of Corfu and Venetian style houses is opening approaching to the island. Corfu welcome us with a lack of parking places and 35-degree heat, so we hurried to hide from the sun in the shade of the narrow streets.
Once in the old town, we forget that we are in Greece. Typical Italian courtyards with laundry hanging to dry in the sun, peeling red-orange walls and green shutters instead of Greek blue.
The tower with a clock of St. Spyridon's church is a kind of landmark in the Old Town. St. Spyridon especially revering in Russia. Pausing at the temple, we hurried to  have a look at the famous old fort. When we arrived the ticket office was closed, and they allowed us to pass with the dog and for free, and there was virtually no visitors. We were lucky enough to watch the sunset from the city walls. So, of course, we were not upset at all!
For the trip we took our Ruffy, which obviously promoted to the popularity of the breed all over the world, because where are so many tourists from all corners of the earth, and for every second one i had to explain what breed it is. Tired of impressions and Ruffy's popularity, we moved for the night.
It turned out to be a convenient and inexpensive choice in favor of renting the house as opposed to the usual hotel rooms.
The view of the tiny island with white Blachernae monastery and even smaller nearby Mouse Island seemed to me the most Greek looking image on Corfu. There is the airport nearby the island and the planes fly directly overhead, almost touching the bell tower.

The nature of Corfu impressing even someone who accustomed to the beauty of the Greece. Spectacular hilly terrain, small islands, the abundance of greenery and trees, azure sea ... all these beauties irreversibly make working up an appetite. In Greece, I really like the way of cooking - the dishes are seasonal, always fresh, and the taste is not masked by the abundance of sauces and spices. I don't eat meat, and i don't feel left out in the gastronomic pleasures - seafood, vegetables, fruits, cheeses.
We stocked up some cheese on the way home in the mountain village Metsovo, famous for its cheese makers and wood craftsmen. Cobblestones, which are washing every morning, the roofs covered with flat stones, and everywhere - the smell of wood.

After school I study at Moscow University of Arts and Technologies, Department of Design and Applied Arts. I graduated from the university with honors. After I worked for 15 years as an assistant and then as a senior designer in different Moscow companies.

- In recent years in Russia, I worked in a big Moscow clothing company. The work was associated with frequent trips to Istanbul - we produced there 50% of our collection. There I met my husband, and soon i moved to Greece. For a few years I continued to work with the Russian company, with regular trips to Istanbul.
- It is difficult to start a business here?
- I was lucky, I met people with the same enthusiasm for fashion. Eastern Macedonia and Thrace was famous for their textile companies before the crisis. Of course we are at the beginning, we have to do a lot. For example, our web site, we did without any help, as well as photo shootings. For now we have released the first collection of dresses, jumpsuits and now we produce knitwear and jersey collection.
- What is the DNA of your brand, what is the difference with the others?
- Inspired by pure forms, i like to play with the silhouettes, textures, lines. I try to emphasize the feminine side of every woman without to shade her personality. - I like to travel, to learn something new. I have a garden with a huge variety of colors. I love all animals. I have a dog, we move together. Being in Moscow, I met a wonderful person - Ekaterina Panova. She has founded the Charitable Foundation for stray animals (RAY). Together we did a Charitable collection of T-shirts with thematic prints. All profits from  this collection go to help to stray dogs and cats. Now we are preparing a new collection, more diverse - with shirts and sweatshirts for the whole family.
- What are your plans for the future?
- In the near future I would like to focus on the development of the company, to promote my collection and my vision of style and fashion.

How to find your size

To find your perfect fit you need to determine your size. How to do it? Very easy!
In some cases it is possible to determine the size by height and weight. For example, if you buy a blouse or a dress made from jersey, or from a fabric with the high elastane content. Also, this method is applicable for clothes with oversized silhouette.
However, usually it is difficult to choose clothes by height and weight, because people with the same height and weight can differ in other parameters of the figure. Therefore, determining the size of clothing by height and weight is not quite accurate for adults. So we recommend to use the bust, waist and hips measurements for the exact result.
As long as you know your measurements, you shouldn't have a problem figuring out which sizes work best for you.
Measure correctly
The measurements will be accurate if you take them in your underwear or in thin clothes.
Keep the measuring tape snug but not too tight. It should be rather stretched, as close as possible to the body. It is necessary to maintain the habitual posture.
What measurements should I take?
1) Bust - you'll need to place the measuring tape horizontally and measure the fullest part of your bust to get the proper measurement.
2) Waist - measure in the narrowest place. Bend to one side (doesn't matter which) and find your waist's natural crease.
3) Hips - place the measuring tape horizontally. Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
4) You also need to know your height - it's measured without shoes.

If your measurements correspond to the different sizes, you need to take into account the type of clothing that is planned to be purchased. For pants or skirts, you need to have in mind the waist and hips, and for a blouse or jumper - the bust.
If you buy a dress from inelastic fabric, be guided by the measurements corresponding to a larger size. For example, if your bust corresponds to the size M, and the hips to the size S, it is recommended to choose the size M.
If your measurements are between two sizes, you should take into account the habitual style of clothing. Preferring close fit you can choose a smaller size, and preferring relaxed fit - choose a bigger size.

Ask us!

The best way to find out the dress sizes is to ask us. As long as you know your measurements we will be able to help you - STYLATI.
